it’s party time!

December 10, 2009

Thinking about how to style your holiday soiree?  So are we.

Helloooo drama! Do you love shiny black tablescapes as much as I do?

(get this “black coral” flatware set from viva terra)

Pop the bubbly…chilewich placemats and runners are seriously the best.

Is all this black too glam (or too goth) for you?

No worries, rustic is still the rage right now. Use your barn table, some simple white dishes (like these or these) and add some neutral (or bright!) flowers and call it a day!

It’s no secret that I love things that sparkle, and typically I prefer the scattered, staggered candle layout, but this row of thick, same-size candles down the center of the table accomplishes the glow and the uniformity that I often crave in design.

Got organic on the brain?

These agate plates are so unexpected.

Jazz them up with some pretty stemware like this

and a gorgeous tablecloth or runner that has a touch of shimmer like this (those are speckles of mirror embroidered within the runner).

And here are some must haves that would look perfect on your table or be a great holiday gift. Check out this amazing pottery by Robert Siegel Ceramics.

This lace detail is impeccable.

and these vibrant, simple colors are to die for…

(bonus – i grew up with Robert, although I remember him as Robby, and literally cannot believe what an incredible artist he has become).

Setting the table often sets the mood of your party, so remember to go festive cause it’s party time!
